Pool Weather

Mother nature has a hand in when the pool can be open and can dictate when the pool is closed. Our member's safety is our primary concern when they are swimming - especially during inclement weather.
Basic guidelines to remember:
  • If you see lightening or hear thunder - get out of the water immediately!
  • Lightening can strike a body of water from up to 2 miles miles away
  • The pool is closed for 20 minutes after the last audible clap of thunder
  • The pool is closed for 30 minutes after the last visible lightening strike or flash
  • Always put on a UVA & UVB based sunscreens: +30 is best!
  • Don't let mother nature fool you! Even when the sky is overcast or cloudy, you can still get a severe sunburn!
